Construction Is On The Rise!

One thing we have noticed this past 2 years is that construction is trying to pick up, but the upturn looks a lot more aggressive in 2013.

More and more local and national customers are starting to look at our restored heavy equipment units to save on costs. Also, a lot of construction companies are holding on to their equipment and looking to have it restored instead of purchasing new machines. Several concrete plants near JED Alliance’s headquarters in Florida have been getting us to refurbish and paint their concrete mixer trucks, to get them back on the road and at job sites. Mixer trucks and other machinery that were useless before are now producing revenue.

Restoring Your Heavy Equipment Saves Money

Besides the hefty cost of purchasing new equipment, many companies who survived the recession face high interest rates due to bad credit. These construction companies are turning their old machines to like-new.

As an example, Mr. John owns a concrete plant in the Orlando, FL, area. His fleet of concrete trucks need mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic work to make them effective and safe to operate. Mr. John knows of our expertise restoring concrete pumps and concrete equipment, so he contacted us to help him bring these concrete mixers up to code and to look better.

After working extensively on the mechanicals, our team ran scans of the vehicle and engine and fixed the electrical malfunctions. Then we headed to our sandblasting shop.

After sandblasting, we applied a good quality sealant and primer so the concrete cannot corrode the metal. We do this for all our refurbished construction equipment.

Then we took Mr. John’s concrete mixer truck to our state-of-the-art paint shop, just like we do for all our heavy equipment. There we applied a beautiful paint job. This not only provides additional protection to extend the life of the equipment, but also  makes the unit shine and ready to be seen.

Finally, before the customer comes to pick up the unit, we pay attention to the final details and double check on everything that could go wrong. Once this inspection has passed, the unit is ready for delivery.

Mr. John said, “Some general contractors or project managers don’t like to have old equipment on their job. They don’t want to deal with break-downs that cause delays. When they see these restored concrete trucks, they don’t even say anything about them. Some think that my 2000 mixers are almost new! So I don’t mind restoring every single one of them.”
